Since October 2005 the Sisters of the Presentation of North America have supported a collaborative ministry among the homeless and underserved through St. Joseph Outreach Program in New Orleans, Louisiana, in Tulane County, one of the poorest counties in the United States. In 2007, the five Presentation Sisters expanded their collaboration to work with other groups in New Orleans. They have joined St. Joseph Church, a Vincentian parish, and other partner organizations to create a multi-service recovery center on the grounds of the church. Among the collaborating partners are the Fr. Harry Thompson Center, a Jesuit sponsored ministry for the homeless; Lantern Light, Inc, a Presentation service ministry for the poor; the Daughters of Charity Health Services; the Office of Hispanic Ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and other agencies.
